Wonderful! I love the color, does it represent something in the design? It's very festive and joyful.

Thanks Gabrielle....yes the colors are very vibrant...and they make you to keep on drawing more...and more..

Thanks Barbara..yes the celebrations of Janamashtami was very good...I had dressed my 2.5 year old daughter as "Radha"...the devotee of Krishna..

This festival is always associated with fun and great joy and togetherness..and happiness...We make different kinds of sweets and Salted snacks for this occasion and make butter and fruts as offerings to the Lord Krishna.

Actually...the centre design in white rangoli is the peacock...Krishna always has a peacock feather in this crown..so I used this design for the main part..and chose the colours at random..whichever I thought would give a contrasting match...and the outer part of the rangoli is made to look like a flower...

Thanks Ann for visiting.

Hi Norena...Thanks so much.

We get ready-made colored powders here..which can used to create rangolis of different kinds..there are some rangolis where we first draw dots according to the design and then draw the design on/around it.

Other types are free hand rangolis where you can draw the design with chalkpiece and the fill in the color inside it...or else there is seive art..where you get sieves with different designs and you have to pour in the color to get the designs...and adjust the sieves according to the shapes you want...circle/square..etc.

Some people also make designs with plain white rangolis and then decorate it with red-mud..in a design form which is made on auspicious occasions...

Hi Trish...to be honest...I had got so busy with my daughter and Krishna pooja preparations that I couldnt find time to paint/sketch a pic so that I could post it...luckily..I made this rangoli for pooja...and took the snap...and posted it thinking that it will be different and will be a good change...

Yes the pooja celebrations were good and we all had a good time.

Thanks again,Trish.
