    Well done Aarti. I like the way you've used negative space to bring out her earring. Form shading has such nice soft edges!

    She's beautiful, Aarti - the lace work too. I grew up close to an English
    Town with a heavy immigrant population, people from all over the world, and
    have fond memories of bejeweled women in Saree's. There is very little
    diversity of dress here in Arkansas. Shame.

    Hi Barbara,

    Yes, dressing styles are different here in India..especially the culture is preserved by the rural population, older generations of people living in cities etc..mostly the urban crowd dresses up in formal clothes and their hectic schedules leave very less time for tradtional clothes like saree which takes some time to be tied...but when it comes to Hindu weddings,the bride usually is dressed in her best and prefers to wear grand sarees/lehenga cholis /salwar kameez and heavy jewellery.
