Sometimes....

Sometimes, in a summer morning, having taken my accustomed bath, I sat in my sunny doorway from sunrise till noon, rapt in reverie. ~Henry David Thoreau

  1. She's beautiful. Love the aesthetic of the painting, almost black and white with just the touch of color, and the neat lines.

  2. Hi Kazumi...I usually make use of a limited palette if its only the face..if it includes the model's clothes also, then I use vibrant colors for it. Thanks anyways.

  6. Aarti, I like this one but it appears the woman is winking because the left
eye (looking at the painting) appears open a bit. Is that the case?

  7. Hi Jim....glad you spotted that... infact...I realized this myself only after I posted it...somehow..when i painted it..probably...a part of her eyelashes were forgotten to be completed...I guess it is looking funny...thanks that you derived a decent expression of this woman...winking...a different angle to it.

  9. Very nice Aarti. So often, I notice a little something I forgot AFTER I post (I read the comment about the wink and your response). I like your color on this. The mouth is super, maybe because it's the real spot of color - I don't really know why.
