Life really means...

Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

  1. Dear Aarti,
I'm new to the group, and I'm only just getting to meet people, so it's nice to meet you and enjoy your art. I loved the use of colour in your painting and I found that you were able to make the eyes very expressive...it's almost as though your subject is harbouring some secret thoughts. It's so nice to be able to enjoy art from all around the world. Thanks for sharing,

    Best wishes

  2. Hi Nicole...welcome to this group...its nice to meet like minded people and share ideas.

Im glad you liked the painting...but Im not a professional artist and have never got a chance to learn painting or sketching...so I feel I still need to refine my skills.

Be in touch and keep sharing your views and critics also..it is very helpful.
    Thanks again.

  3. I like everything in the portrait, except the neck or throat... it needs to be a little lighter. Keep up the good work.

  5. Hi Linda..yes I observed that neck part as well..and it looks prominently different shade in the snap...as compared to the original sketch...hope to improve on that.

    Thanks Linda.

  6. Aarti - it's very difficult to make hair seem to flow from the head as a natural part of the subject rather than a "cap" that sits apart, separate. Congratulations on your success here.
